"I had an extremely frustrating experience with this insurance company regarding their assessment of my roof. They insisted that my roof required full replacement, despite the fact that multiple licensed contractors and even another insurance company inspected it and found no issues warranting replacement. I provided a written inspection report from a licensed contractor to Nick and their underwriting department, yet their decision was not reconsidered. I was told by Nick Mcmillian, “I understand that’s what the contractor thinks, but in all honesty it’s not up to him. He is not going to replace your roof if it starts leaking in six months due to granular loss.” The issue with this reasoning is that if there truly were the level of “mass granular loss” they claimed, it would have been clearly identified by other professionals. None of the inspectors who evaluated the roof observed the alleged granular loss, nor did they see granules in the gutters, which would typically be present if such damage existed. This experience demonstrated a refusal to consider documented evidence and professional evaluations outside of their own assessment. I expect accuracy and honesty from an insurance provider, especially when it comes to major property decisions. Unfortunately, Nick McMillan and this company as a whole failed on both counts."
